The National Teen Age Republican Magazine TARGET NEWS 2005 Special '04 Edition had the following full page story on the Baxter County Arkansas TAR Federation:

With the TAR organization growing rapidly in Baxter County (Arkansas) it was decided to establish a County TAR Federation. Right now it consists of Mountain Home High School TARS and the Publicly Schooled TARS known as PS TARS.

Both Clubs were very involved in the local, state, and national elections. The PS TARS manned a Voter Registration Booth at the Homebuilders Show and registered over 250 new Republican voters during their Fall Registration drive.

PS Tars Serving Snowcones at Baxter Co Fair The PS TARS traveled to a neighboring County to volunteer as "Food Servers" at the Marion County Lincoln Day Dinner. And, during the hot days of the Baxter County Fair, the TARS attracted hundreds of people to the GOP Booth by selling "snow cones" and passing out literature!

Both Clubs participating in door-to-door canvassing, phone banks, putting up signs, and helping at Republican Headquarters on a regular basis.

However, the favorite TAR project was converting a vehicle into a colorful Bush-Mobile and participating in a number of local and state parades!

Everyone in the Baxter County TAR Federation was involved in the 72 Hour Project in helping Get Out the Vote on Election Day!

OBJECTIVES:

To bring young people into the Republican Party and to provide an opportunity for them to find political expression and recognition;

To foster and encourage the activities of the Republican Party and to promote its ideals;

To collect, analyze, discuss, and disseminate information concerning political affairs and political philosophy; and

To advise, coordinate, and promote activities of Teenage Republicans.
